Carbon Footprint

To minimise the carbon footprint of deodorants and antiperspirants, manufacturers can optimise the amount of packaging used and choose the most environmentally sustainable packaging materials available. Optimisation of the manufacturing sites and transportation facilities can also help to optimise the carbon footprint of antiperspirants and deodorants.

The majority of deodorants and antiperspirant sprays are sold in metal aerosols (aluminium or steel). Metal packaging of aerosols can be readily recycled into other materials for a number of other uses, such as car manufacturing, building construction materials, and packaging, such as drinks cans. Recycling one tonne of aluminium saves over nine tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.1
