If you have excessive or problematic sweating, it is important to visit you doctor, nurse or a healthcare professional for advice and treatment options. Below are some of the ways that excessive sweating is normally treated.
High strength antiperspirants
Antiperspirants are available in different strengths offering a range of sweat protection. The ability of the antiperspirant to prevent sweating depends on the level of the antiperspirant ingredients in the product. Aluminium-based ingredients such as, aluminium zirconium tetrachlorohydrex, are particularly effective and are used in clinical antiperspirants to control excessive sweating.
Antiperspirants containing aluminium chloride are also effective but they can cause irritation to the skin. Aluminium chloride antiperspirants should be used correctly, according to instructions alongside an emollient or moisturizer in order to avoid or minimize skin irritation or inflammation.1
